John Owen Cape Town 1787

13th October, 1787

I just arrived in Cape Town which is in South Africa. The Dutch Govenor is not happy that us british people have arrived. Today me herd there were some convicts on the Alexander, armed with pistols, knives and iron bars tried to munity. The Dutch has only allowed us three days bread. Captain Phillip has the Governor for more. Today we left Cape town after finally receiving stocks of grain. However,we haven't got enough hay to feed the new animals on board.
